On March 10th 2016, Papa Wemba said in an interview that he thought he will die on stage, in front of his fans. About a month later, that premonition came true… Papa Wemba died on April 24 during his performance at the FEMUA music festival in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire). If you don’t know who Papa Wemba is, you have to look him up and listen to his music!He has made an indelible impact on Congolese music and culture. His career spans more than 40 years -from 1969 to 2016- and he has released more than 50 albums. He promoted the culture of the SAPE and the sapeurs. We had to celebrate his life and music…
